I've said it before and i'll say it again: Your circumstances do not have the power to control you. How you CHOOSE to react to those circumstances is what determines your joy.
Okay I know like "whoa why you hittin' us with all the mind, emotion crap on a Friday. We were looking for your favorite Saturday morning brunch spot". In all honesty I'm sharing my thoughts on this today to remind myself I am in control of my happiness and I can choose that despite things going exactly the way I want them to.
.
.
No one is 100% in every aspect of their life 100% of the time (despite what social media tries to tell you) We all slack in areas of our life or have circumstances that get us down and affect how we responded to other things as well. I'm literally the WORST about this (just ask my husband). If I don't get up early and workout or I don't eat good for a couple days I've ruined the whole week, I might as well not even work out, I'm tired, I can't get motivated, nothing gets accomplished blah blah blah. I know I'm not alone in this vicious cycle.
.
But guys start at the beginning and see how mindset can completely change that week or day or circumstance. So day one, you didn't get up early and workout. Okay now stop there, make a choice, be aware of what your feeling, and then choose to feel better. Our brains naturally react the way we're wired what our nature is but we have the ability to "override" that if you will, with just being aware and making a decision to change that feeling.
.
The benefit of doing that? Joy, contentment, peace. The list goes on. As you visit this blog we just want you guys to feel apart of this community of freaking real people who are choosing happy even though sometimes life throws us a curve ball. Please know we want you to enjoy the recipes, fashion tips and fun partner workout but also know that we care that you find the joy that we have found within yourself and no amount of protein balls and Pinterest pages can give you that.
May you choose joy this weekend!
xoxo,
PTB
