Happy Monday, y'all! Something about being stuck at home makes me want to organize all the things! I just thought I would share a few of the recent items I have purchased to keep our kitchen drawers and cabinets easily accessible and eye-pleasing! I love when everything has a place! All the items (but one) I am sharing are from Amazon (YAY for not having to leave the house!). With just a few clicks, a few bucks, and a very minimal amount of work, you too can organize your kitchen!
I have a decent amount of cabinet space in our kitchen, but it's kinda tricky to find the right home for everything. I did some moving around, and found that if I put my utensils in this decorative ice cream canister, that with some shifting around, I had extra drawer space. I used the extra drawer space for pots and pans that were all jumbled together in a smaller cabinet. The drawer makes it so easy to pull out a pot and use!
These pots and pans in the picture are also from Amazon! We got them for a wedding gift from a bunch of my AMAZING coworkers (we/they did the group gift option on Amazon, which I think is genius!) and they are NIIIIIIICE! I will link them here.
Grocery bags. Everyone has them, but how can you store them without taking up unnecessary space or being visible? I had about 107767766 plastic grocery bags shoved into one narrow cabinet to the left of the sink, and decided that was a very poor use of space. We actually got our "grocery bag holder" to mount inside of the cabinet door at Lowe's, but I cannot find it on their website. Here is a similar one on Amazon!
The next problem I solved with an organizational gadget is that of wax paper, aluminum foil, plastic wrap, baggies, parchment paper, etc... That was all in a drawer (the one the pots and pans are in now), and I'm so happy I was able to move the grocery bags (I threw away a ton) so that I had room for these essential kitchen items! They didn't take up the whole drawer, so a bunch of space was wasted. This tiered organizer (linked here) allows you to stack them, and it's adjustable so you can make the holding spaces whatever size you want!
I also got this little dishcloth/dish-towel rack so that I can hang them out of sight under the sink! It needs moved up just a little bit, so longer towels don't stick out the bottom!
Finally, and obviously this one has not made it up yet, is this cute bronze basket that will go on the other cabinet door under the sink to hold cleaning products and maximize space.
One more thing that hasn't arrived yet-- a JUNK drawer (shudder, sigh, vomit) organizer! I absolutely love having a "random" junk drawer to put things like pens, sticky notes, chip clips, chapstick, stamps, dog leash, battery, piece of gum, safety pin, lawnmower key, paint samples, budget papers, etc. in so that it's out of sight whenever I tidy up the kitchen. It keeps my island from being a catchall for mail and other various S#!T. BUT, the inside of this thing is horrendous. Something had to be done! Of course I got on Amazon, and I'm super excited to try these customizable organizers! It comes with 8 pieces for under $9 right now! I like that you can change the layout to fit whatever you need it to fit. If I have extra, I'm planning on doing the bathroom drawers with them, too!
I hope this gives you some organizational motivation, and if you have any questions, as always, I'd LOVE to help you! What are your top kitchen organizational items?? Tell me in the comments! I love a good organized space. It makes your area so much more functional and aesthetically pleasing! I always feel more productive when the area around me is tidy-- with that-- I'm going to get off here and clean the kitchen!
xoxo,
ljh ♥️
